Notes

In May 2012 Tangerine Dream performed their only Germany concert of the Electronic Mandarine Tour in Berlin. The complete concert was recorded and finally released in November 2012 on triple CD album. Due to a pressing mistake affecting the overall sound quality the album release was delayed by about two weeks. Customers of the Eastgate shop who had preordered the album received a new signed postcard for free to compensate the additional time they had to wait for the item. 20 of those postcards were stamped on the back side and were valid as a voucher for two further products from the Eastgate shop.

 


The Eastgate Music Shop about the CD release"The Admiralspalast is located right in the center of the Berlin city. A very famous place known for its great shows during the so-called 'Golden Twenties' in Berlin. Just newly renovated and equipped with all high tech needs of the 21st Century, TD played this concert in front of a sold out house and performed one of their best shows on this tour. TD has started their career in this town about 45 years ago and never thought of such a musical success worldwide. So this was one more time an evidence how the German fans would react to one out of the very few bands who survived all pros and cons within the more than four and a half decades. The audience in that night of the 10th May 2012 was -- without any doubt -- the most supportive crowd the band ever met in their hometown. Listen to this triple CD album and you'll agree with this statement. Together with the CD comes a full color 16 page booklet. There are also two bonus titles included, which the band couldn't perform after the main concert because of the curfew. You'll hear the soundcheck version of Russian Soul and Ride On A Ray.

Almost on the same date as its CD release this album became available as MP3 download at the Tangerine Dream Download Shop as well.

 


Though initially not intended, in April 2013 the concert was released on DVD as well. The double-layer DVD comes in a standard DVD case with a 16-page booklet, including the track listing, credits and numerous large photos from the concert. The DVD version does not include the two tracks recorded during the soundcheck.

 


The Eastgate Music Shop about the DVD release"There are quite a few TD concerts where maybe a CD release is good enough to cover the musical atmosphere. Even if the concert was professionally filmed, the band wasn't always sure to release both formats. But people kept asking for the images from the Berlin Admiralspalast concert, part of The Electric Mandarine Tour 2012, in one of the legendary old theatres in Berlin. So, nearly one year after, you can watch this strange gig showing the band again in the city were everything began 45 years ago. This is not just a concert, it's a historic document. A young dream at the old destroyed wall of desire."
