Serpent Magique

The liner notes of Views From A Red Train about this composition: "Some old wise books telling us that the real consciousness is like a snake with his tail on earth and his head in heaven. The composer's sequencing software has no note symbols for either earth or heaven. But the laptop found the horizontal snake sign: ∼. If two ∼ signs are mirrored against each other you will have the sign for infinity (∞). Two snakes on the horizontal will meet two snakes on the vertical and cross... well, the composer's laptop underwent a malfunction source during the composing process of this song while being exposed to a blizzard in the Austrian Alps. True story."

There are several official versions of this composition:
  • the original studio recording from 2008
  • five slightly different live recordings from 2008 through 2011
