"To be totally absorbed in what we're doing is to use our powers and faculties at their maximum efficiency. As we divert our thrust by standing aside and viewing ourselves in action, to that degree do we lessen our capability and enjoyment. Wondering if we're doing the right thing or the thing right, at the same time that we're doing our thing, inevitably detracts from the doing. There is a time to think about acting and a time to act. They are not the same." - Stewart W. Holmes / Chimyo Horioka
Ocean Waves Collection features five tracks that had originally been released on the albums Quinoa (1992), 220 Volt Live (1993), The Keep (1997) and Antique Dreams (2000), as well as the previously unreleased composition Oceanride. The track Quinoa is edited down by almost eight minutes, most probably because Jerome Froese holds the copyright of the remaining part.
This album had initially been released as a virtual album in January 2007, available from the Tangerine Dream Download Shop only. Eventually, in June 2007, it became available as CD release as well.
Regarding the initial Eastgate CD release, neither CD nor the paper inserts show any order number or barcode, but the number given below is the order number the Eastgate Music Shop lists this release.
In March 2009 the album was re-released with different cover design as part of an extensive digipack series (consisting of a total of more than 60 CD and DVD releases) by the Germany based Membran record label, and in March 2010 it was re-released in Japan as part of a series of HiQualityCDs with mini LP paper sleeves. In September 2010 the album was re-released as part of the box set The Electronic Journey.
