Notes

The Independent Years is a compilation featuring tracks that were originally released on The Melrose Years (2002). When compiling this album, once again a remix of Ivory Town was used instead of the composition Ruling The Waves. This compilation contains no new material.

This release is part of an extensive digipack series (consisting of a total of more than 60 CD and DVD releases) by the Germany based Membran record label.

The Eastgate Music Shop about the CD release"When these songs were produced they created a lot of irritation among the die-hard TD fans. Bearing this in mind all these tracks became nevertheless one of the most popular bunch of music from the late 80s Melrose years area. Enjoy some electrifying compositions of that time!"

The title Electric Lion is faulty mastered, with heavy digital clicks and dropouts, making this track almost unlistenable.

In September 2010 the album was re-released as part of the box set The Electronic Journey.
