Notes

"The purpose of a fish trap is to catch fish,
and when the fish are caught, the trap is forgotten.
The purpose of a rabbit snare is to catch rabbits.
When the rabbits are caught, the snare is forgotten.
The purpose of words is to convey ideas.
When the ideas are grasped, the words are forgotten.
Where can I find a man who has forgotten words?
He is the one I would like to talk to."

- Chuang Tzu

"We consider bible, holy books and religions divine -- I do not say they are not divine,
I say they have all grown out of you and may grow out of you still,
It is not they who give the life, it is you who give the life,
Leaves are not more shed from the trees, or trees from the earth,
than they are shed out of you.

And all pervasive there is the wordless unknown to men -- not written down anywhere."

- Walt Whitman

"I have nothing to say, I an saying it, and that is poetry."
- John Cage

"As is the human body, so is the cosmic body.
As is the human mind, so is the cosmic mind.
As is the microcosm, so is the macrocosm.
As is the atom, so is the universe."

- The Upanishads

"Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in the stream,
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom and a dream."

- The Buddha

This is the fifth and final part of the 'Five Atomic Seasons' cycle by Tangerine Dream that includes the following albums:

The Eastgate Music Shop about the CD release"Even after the worst scenario which happened to the two Japanese cities Nagasaki and Hiroshima, there is a life after so much suffering from grief and pain. The fifth sequel of 'The Five Atomic Seasons' -- The Endless Season -- shows the couple moving back to their monastery in order to receive a very special instruction how to cope with life these days. The music reflects the mixture of feelings during this conversation and also the slightly positive change of consciousness towards a 'life-after-death' situation. The Eastgate team already had the opportunity to hear this dynamic complex work and they said, it's the best of the series!! Will this statement withstand the fans' opinions? This could become tricky... :-)"

The album is entirely composed and performed by Edgar Froese (with the exception of Bernhard Beibl playing guitar on The Seven Barriers). The 8-page booklet contains album credits, the closing (and quite esoteric) chapter of the story about Japanese H.T. and his beloved Ayumi, numerous quotations and some landscape photographs from Japan.

The Endless Season Postcard

"We don't see things as they are. we see them as we are."
- Anais Nin

The first 200 orders of the CD received a special high quality postcard signed by Edgar Froese (see left and below). The front side shows the CD cover artwork plus the following imprint:

"Thank you very much for participating on this special project and being a loyal fan of Tangerine Dream -- with best Season's Greetings and best wishes for a successful year 2011. Edgar Froese"

The back of the card shows the quotation cited above and the signature of Edgar Froese.

Only a few days after its initial CD release the album became available as MP3 download at the Tangerine Dream Download Shop as well.
