Notes

Loom is a project by former TD members Johannes Schmoelling and Jerome Froese together with Berlin based Robert Wässer, who appears under the name Robert Waters (which is just the English translation of his German name).

The Loom web site about the project"Some things in life will never happen but sometimes things become reality contrary to expectations. Johannes Schmoelling and Jerome Froese are well known to the public as long-time key members of electronic legend Tangerine Dream and for their highly rated solo albums. Robert Waters already did a remix (in collaboration with Ulrich Schnauss) for the reissue of Johannes Schmoelling's solo album White Out a few years ago and is one of Berlin's busiest producers. The idea to collaborate already came up in late 2008 but due to a lot of issues it came to a standstill several times. But finally things have changed fundamentally a few months ago when Jerome asked Johannes for a co-op on his next solo album called Far Side Of The Face which turned out to be a very fruitful experience."

The first EP of the project was released through Jerome Froese's own label Moonpop and titled 100 001 (the full title can be read only when viewing both front and back side of the sleeve). It features four tracks which obviously are not a team effort yet but composed, performed and produced by the individual members; while Jerome Froese and Johannes Schmoelling provide one composition each, the remaining two (slightly shorter) tracks are by Robert Waters. The compositions by Jerome Froese and Johannes Schmoelling show their usual style and could easily be leftovers from their most recent studio albums. Robert Waters' compositions are both very melodic, and while one of them, The Hand Of Bosch, has a hint of Vangelis' pastoral style, the other one, Sun Castle, stylistically somewhat reminds of the music of Ulrich Schnauss -- with whom Waters had remixed the track Ice Walk (as mentioned above). By incident, Ulrich Schnauss then became a member of Tangerine Dream in late 2014.
